Day 32 on Lexapro.
Day 9 on Lamictal.
written ?? days later.

“If Tina shows up, then I’ll be there.”
– Anderson Cooper, on whether or not he’d cover the storm
This day brought anticipation of Ike’s arrival. From what we could tell, he was zeroed in on Galveston and Houston. The news did not look good. This morning, waves were already slamming into the top of the seawall…a scary and shocking sight. Apparently, this storm was as big as Texas. Those who stayed on Galveston island were warned of certain death.
News about the hurricane was everywhere we turned. So when my parents suggested driving around their old stomping grounds, I knew we wouldn’t be left in the dark if we went along.
So, that is what we did. Wompwomp.
This night, my cousin and I sipped wine as we watched the storm roll over Galveston island. We had done the same thing a few years earlier when Hurricane Rita had been projected to hit our area.
It had not.
Ike definitely was.
Watching the news, we could not tell exactly what was going on. At 2am, during the eye of the storm, I couldn’t stay awake any longer. The morning would bring real news, I thought.
Everything would be easier to pick apart then.

I love a Hawaiian shirt, tutu and do-rag. That is an awesome look.
